Here’s a classic recipe for making deviled eggs. They’re easy, delicious, and perfect for gatherings or snacks!

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp white vinegar or lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika (for garnish)
  • Optional: finely chopped chives, pickles, or bacon bits

Instructions

1. Boil the eggs

  • Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water by about 1 inch.
  • Bring the water to a boil, then cover the pot, remove it from heat, and let it sit for 10-12 minutes.
  • Afterward, transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water and let them cool for at least 5 minutes.

2. Peel the eggs

  • Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface and roll them to crack the shells.
  • Peel under cold running water for easier removal.

3. Prepare the filling

  • Slice the eggs in half lengthwise.
  • Scoop out the yolks and place them in a small bowl.
  • Mash the yolks with a fork until smooth.

4. Mix the filling

  • Add the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper to the mashed yolks.
  • Mix until the filling is smooth and creamy. Adjust the seasoning as needed.

5. Assemble the deviled eggs

  • Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites. (For a fancy look, use a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off.)

6. Garnish and serve

  • Sprinkle with paprika for color and a hint of spice.
  • Optionally, top with chopped chives, crispy bacon bits, or pickles.

Enjoy your deviled eggs! They can be served immediately or refrigerated for a few hours to let the flavors develop.
