A frappé is a frothy, chilled drink that is often coffee-based, especially in Greece. Here’s a simple recipe for a classic coffee frappé:

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee (or espresso powder)
  • 1–2 teaspoons sugar (optional)
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • 3/4 cup cold milk (or water for a more traditional version)
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Flavored syrup (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Coffee and Sugar:
    • In a blender or shaker, combine the instant coffee, sugar (if using), and cold water.
  2. Blend:
    • Blend the mixture until it becomes frothy and foam forms on top. If using a shaker, shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
  3. Pour into Glass:
    • Fill a tall glass with ice cubes and pour the frothy coffee mixture over the ice.
  4. Add Milk or Water:
    • Add cold milk (or water if you prefer a lighter drink) to fill up the glass.
  5. Top with Extras:
    • Optionally, top with whipped cream and drizzle with flavored syrup for a richer treat.
  6. Serve:
    • Stir and enjoy immediately with a straw!

You can adjust the sweetness and strength to your preference. Variations include using different flavored syrups, chocolate chips, or even a scoop of ice cream for a dessert-like frappé!
